Fri, July 14, 2006 - 6:50 PMI vote Serato. I've heard both on a modest sound system and Serato has it by inches, but it's there. It just has a bit more warmth and body it seems. Version 2 of FS is much better, but still. I haven't heard Serato on a big system yet though...soooo? -

I'm using FS2 and can only recommend that. Haven't tried Serato, though. From what I've heard it's a matter of taste: Serato is easy to use and maybe better for scratch DJs etc. FS2 has a lot of features (especially if upgraded to FS Studio).
As for sound quality, iI guess it comes down to bit rate: how good are your Mp3s!
Either which you choose, it's a win-win situation: you stay vinyl junkie and save your back from those heavy crates.

Sat, July 29, 2006 - 2:50 PMAlso, Serato has an option so that you can place the needle on the center loop of the platter and scroll through your tracks on your puter and then select it by stopping, lifting the needle and then you cue it up. You don't even have to touch the mouse or keyboard to play. I like that feature a lot. -

Paradox is a bit of a stretch though. Serato only sounds as good as the source files will allow. Sure the program has a good sound, but it matters not if you're using it to play mp3. thanks for starting that mess, me. You rule!!!
